Acantha happiest hour ! Aperitivo drinks served an hour before dinner at Acantha gardens. Negroni (Campari, Martini Rosso vermouth and gin), the Americano (Campari, Martini Rosso vermouth and soda), or a spritz (Aperol or Campari and prosecco)
So They Say: The Origins of the Aperitivo It is hard to pinpoint the exact origins of the Italian aperitivo. It has been said that the aperitivo concept started in Torino in 1786 by the creator of the vermouth liquor, Antonio Benedetto Carpano. It’s also been reported that in the 1860s, Gaspare Campari moved to Milan, where he opened a café and served his home-brewed invention, the Campari liquor.
Our Chefs prepare their menus according to what the season has to offer. Many dishes are inspired by the simplicity and freshness of Italian cooking. Summer season 2017 we offer a five course menu based on local fresh fish. As some of the dishes on the menu change every week, we cannot say exactly in advance which ones will be available and when. There is always the option of menu a la carte. Acantha restaurant is opened also for non hotel quests.
